Oasis Community Learning is pleased to announced that Clare Robinson has been appointed principal of Oasis Academy Marksbury Road, a primary school in the South West region that opened in 2015 to serve the Bedminster community of Bristol.
Clare is an experienced educationalist who began her teaching career in 2001 in London, becoming a leading maths and English teacher in Redbridge before moving to Bristol to work at Oasis Academy Connaught. On promotion to Deputy Principal, Clare moved the short distance to the brand new sister school Oasis Academy Marksbury Road.
Over the last two years, Clare has helped establish the Academy within the local community, developing its reputation as a caring school that has an exciting and innovative curriculum based on high quality literature and project-based learning.
Her passion for the children of the school and vision for the future of the Academy impressed the Oasis interview panel last month. Clare has become Principal with immediate effect, while Executive Principal George Franks moves onto Oasis Academy Connaught having overseen Marksbury during its formative years.
‘We are thrilled that Clare is to be Oasis Academy Marksbury Road’s new principal,’ says regional director for the south west, Matt Butler.
‘She has the vision and the leadership skills required to take the Academy forward, building on the extremely strong start the school has made.’
‘Her knowledge of Oasis Academy Marksbury Road and the local community is second to none, and her passion for each pupil to make fantastic progress is clear for all to see. We have every confidence that under Clare’s leadership, and with the support of the pupils, their families and our talented staff team, the future for the Academy is very bright indeed.’
On her appointment as principal, Clare Robinson says: ‘I am delighted to have been appointed as Principal of Oasis Academy Marksbury Road. Over the last two years we have worked hard to make the Academy a place of warmth and support, where every child receives an exceptional education and they have space to grow and develop.’
‘As each year passes we welcome a new group of young minds and it is exciting how far we’ve come in such a short space of time. We are determined that this Academy is a place where everyone has the opportunities that they deserve, and that our children leave us well prepared for secondary school and their life beyond.”
