Oasis Academy Foundry moves from Special Measures to 'Good'

Oasis Academy Foundry in Birmingham have been on an incredible journey of transformation, having moved out of special measures, and being judged to be ‘Good’ in every area by Ofsted, less than three years after becoming an Oasis Academy.

In the past 18 months, Oasis Academy Foundry have also been awarded ‘School of Sanctuary’ status, won the Investors in Diversity award, as well as most recently being accredited with a British Council International School Award.

Following a visit in November, Ofsted has reported that the school has inspirational leadership, consistently-good teaching, improved pupil outcomes and outstanding personal welfare and development.

Further highlights in the report include:

- Children in the early years provision make good progress owing to effective teaching that is well matched to their needs

- The curriculum provides pupils with exciting and stimulating learning activities that are well matched to their needs and interests

-The principal is very well supported in her leadership by the deputy principal. Together, they have built a strong team of staff that is committed to providing a positive and nurturing learning environment for all the pupils

- The extremely high emphasis that school leaders place on pupils feeling valued and secure has created a climate where pupils thrive and are supported exceptionally well in their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
