Leaders from across the Oasis family gathered last weekend for the Leadership Development Residential.
As part of the Oasis Continuous Professional Development programme designed to boost leadership and develop the skills we need to deliver exceptional education at the heart of the community, we ran a residential for over 90 colleagues this weekend. Family from across the country enrolled on either the NPQNH or NPQSL course gathered to share best practice and talk about the future of leadership within the context of our schools.
The course run in partnership with Ambition School Leadership focused on topics such as understanding the educational landscape, developing teaching and learning, intelligent use of data and what makes an outstanding middle leader (amongst many). The weekend was flushed with talks and workshops delivered by senior members of the Oasis family based on expertise and experience.
In a speech by CEO John Murphey, he spoke about being authentic and knowing yourself as not only a leader or educationalist but as a person. When discussing the reasons for the programmes and the difference made he spoke of the amount of young people within Oasis each person enrolled today could impact – 274.
“People and culture are central to our vision, therefore development of staff is vital to ensuring that we are continuing on our journey to exceptional education. By putting more into our family and helping them to develop new skills, we know that our Academies can remain impassioned and inspiring places for personal and academic learning” said Murphy.

Oasis welcomes applicants and nominations for training courses and actively encourages each academy to participate in the development of strong leaders, teachers and support staff.
