Peter Knight is appointed Principal at Oasis Academy Brislington

Following a successful recruitment process, Oasis Community Learning is pleased to announce that Peter Knight has been appointed as the permanent Principal of Oasis Academy Brislington.

A long-term member of the Oasis Community Learning family, Peter has been Interim Principal at the large inclusive 11-16 secondary school in southeast Bristol since May 2015 and has led a series of changes that have raised expectations and transformed the culture for learning.

Prior to moving to Oasis Academy Brislington Peter was principal at Oasis Academy Bank Leaze in the north-west of the city, having started his career as a secondary PE and geography teacher.

Upon the news of Mr Knight’s appointment, Oasis Regional Academies Director for the South West, Matthew Butler says; “Peter is an inspirational leader who is creating an Academy community of which everyone – students, parents and carers, staff, governors and the wider community – can be proud.”

Commenting on his appointment, Principal of Oasis Academy Brislington Mr Knight says; “It is a great privilege to be given the chance to lead an Academy that is so well placed to deliver the Oasis pledge of Excellent Education at the Heart of the Community.”

“My vision for the Academy is to provide every student with the confidence, knowledge and skills to stand as first among equals. We have built firm foundations here since Oasis took over two years ago and I am delighted to have been given the chance to lead the team taking the Academy forward into the next stage of its development.”
