Broadoak Primary School in Tameside, Greater Manchester, has today become the 48th member of the Oasis Community Learning family.
A two-form entry primary school of around 350 pupils, the school delivers good progress and attainment with a real strength for teaching developing the children’s writing. The school benefits from an established and committed ‘Friends of Broadoak’ group which leads on fundraising, holds events to for the local community, and runs exciting and challenging activities for the pupils.
Situated to the north of Ashton-under-Lyne, and just a couple of miles from Oasis Academy Limeside, Broadoak joins the North region under the guidance of Regional Director Philip Beaumont.
Today the school officially joins Oasis Community Learning and has become Oasis Academy Broadoak. Lots of work will now take place over the last few weeks of term and over the summer holidays in readiness for us to celebrate the Academy joining the family in September.
‘A huge welcome to the pupils, parents and staff Oasis Academy Broadoak today,’ says Philip Beaumont. ‘A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes for a school to join Oasis as we want to make sure it’s the right decision for everyone – I’d like to pay tribute to all of those who have made today possible. I am excited about what the future holds for the school. ’
‘I know I speak for the other Academies in the North region when I say we cannot wait to get to know those at Broadoak, and to start working together for the advancement of all our pupils.’
CEO of Oasis Community Learning, John Murphy, says; ‘Today is an exciting day for both Oasis Community Learning and our new colleagues at Oasis Academy Broadoak.’
‘We are honoured and humbled to be responsible for this school and these children, and I’m looking forward to seeing all the benefits that come from being part of our family come to fruition.’
‘Together we go further, supporting one another to give every child the opportunities that they deserve to reach their full potential. Please join me in offering a warm welcome to the pupils, families, staff and supporters of Oasis Academy Broadoak.’
We look forward to celebrating Oasis Academy Broadoak joining the trust with the pupils, parents and the local community in September.
